Why build MediaClean?
People naturally focus on the visible image, while the file can also carry device, location, editing-software and provenance information. Understanding that layer usually requires a patchwork of technical tools.
MediaClean brings inspection, cleanup and before-or-after review into a simpler workflow while keeping the terminology and technical limits explicit.
What do we focus on?
The current focus is image metadata: EXIF, GPS, XMP, C2PA and Content Credentials signals, plus readable markers associated with modern editing or generation tools.
Where practical, we prefer browser-local processing because it reduces the need to move user files away from their device.
Accuracy before bigger promises
We do not treat metadata removal as equivalent to defeating every invisible watermark or external platform classifier. If a feature does not perform full cryptographic verification or pixel-level processing, we say so.
Those limits are part of the product, because a result users can inspect is more useful than a claim larger than the tool's actual capability.
