JPEG files can carry EXIF, GPS, XMP and editing-software information in structures separate from the visible picture. MediaClean inspects the file and creates a new copy without carrying ordinary removable metadata forward.
What metadata can be stored in a JPG?
JPEG can carry EXIF, GPS, XMP, comments and other information in segments attached to the image file. Those fields are not visible when you simply view the picture.
MediaClean creates a separate sharing copy instead of modifying the source, then scans the output again so you can review remaining signals.
The current cleanup path can re-encode JPEG during cleanup and compression, so keep the source if you need an archival master or a lossless editing workflow.
How do you know cleanup worked?
After the new copy is created, the tool scans again and shows the new size, format and remaining readable signals.
